1. Begin the figure with a tentative line showing the line of action of the figure, from the head through the torso down the legs.
2. Usually everything else that comes after that is based off of the line of action.
3. Using the the line of action draw another line representing the arms.
4. You can describe the figures action by just these two lines
5. Add a few more lines, such as a second leg, or arm
6. Fill in simple shapes to describe the form (don't get too concerned with muscles or details)
7. Now you can begin to fill in bone and muscle structure
8. Refine the drawing

- First focus on the mass and flow. Get the essence of the pose first, and work on details later.
- Don't be discouraged if your results are not good. You will get better each session but it takes time and patience.
- Analyse your mistakes and learn from them. If you do this you will improve much faster.
